In compliance with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), Arvie will only send promotional text messages or emails to Canadian users who have provided express consent. You may withdraw consent at any time by using the unsubscribe or STOP functionality or by contacting us directly.

OUR ROLE AS DATA CONTROLLER

For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) in the European Union, the UK GDPR, and similar data protection regimes, we generally act as a data controller, meaning we determine the purposes and means of processing your personal information. Our travel providers, to whom we may connect you or process your reservations through, may also act as data controllers. To learn more about how a travel provider may use your personal information, you should review its privacy notice.

PROCESSING BASES AND CONSEQUENCES

When we process your personal information, we rely on the following legal bases:

  • Performance of the contract we have with you. For example, if you use our Services to book a campground or RV park, we process your information to allow the provider to complete and administer that booking.

  • Compliance with legal obligations. For example, we may be required to comply with lawful requests from competent authorities, respond to subpoenas, or maintain transaction records for tax purposes.

  • To serve our legitimate interests. This includes tailoring your experience with our Services, conducting analytics and advertising, preventing fraud, ensuring system security, and improving our products and services — provided that such processing does not outweigh your rights and freedoms.

  • Consent. Where required under applicable law (for example, for sending certain marketing communications or processing sensitive personal data you provide voluntarily), we rely on your consent. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us at the details provided below.

When we use personal information to meet our legitimate interests, we take steps to ensure that your rights and freedoms are not infringed. You also have the right to object to such processing as described in the Your Choices and Rights section below.

AGGREGATE INFORMATION

We may aggregate personal information collected directly from you, information generated about you by us, and information obtained from third parties (with your consent, where required) with personal information collected about other users to produce general statistics that cannot be linked to you or any other specific user.

Information that has been aggregated and de-identified is no longer considered “personal information” and may subsequently be used for any purpose.

ANONYMIZED INFORMATION

We may process information that cannot be linked to you or any other specific user using any means available to us, either because it was collected anonymously or has been subsequently anonymized. Information that is anonymous or has been anonymized is no longer considered “personal information” and may subsequently be used for any purpose.

HOW WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION

We disclose the personal information we collect (or otherwise generate or obtain) as follows:

  • With our travel providers. We share your information with travel providers such as RV parks, campgrounds, national and state parks, and other booking platforms to provide the Services. This may include your name, contact information, itinerary details, preferences, special requests, account information, and other information as required by the travel provider. If you provide a mobile phone number, travel providers may send you text messages regarding your booking.

  • With other business partners. We share information with other third-party business partners for their own marketing purposes, including online advertisers or ad tech companies, where permitted under law.

  • Trips shared by you. If you share itineraries or routes through our Services, those individuals will have access to the information you provide.

  • With social networking services. If you link or interact with Arvie on social media, we may share your information with the social platform or receive data from it.

  • With third-party login services. If you use a third-party service (e.g., Facebook) to log into your Arvie account, we share certain information with that provider.

  • Content you publish. If you submit reviews, blogs, or other content through our Services, you authorize us to publish it across our platforms.

  • To process payments. Payments are handled by Stripe. You will submit payment details directly to Stripe via its API; Arvie does not access or store your card information. We may share payment-related information (excluding card numbers) with fraud detection or compliance services.

  • With other service providers. We share information with vendors who perform services on our behalf, such as hosting, analytics, customer support, fraud prevention, and marketing message delivery.

  • With SMS and communication providers. We may share your name, phone number, and consent records with third-party vendors such as Twilio or Klaviyo for the purpose of delivering SMS or email messages on our behalf. These vendors are prohibited from using your information for other purposes.

  • In the event of a corporate transaction. We may disclose or transfer your information in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets.

  • To protect rights and property. We may disclose your information where we believe in good faith it is necessary to protect our rights, the integrity of our Services, personal safety, or to detect, prevent, and address fraud or security issues.

  • To comply with law. We may disclose your information to government authorities or other relevant third parties to comply with applicable legal requirements.

  • Aggregate information. We may share aggregated or de-identified data at our discretion.

  • At your request. We also share your information as directed by you or with your consent.

HOW WE STORE AND PROTECT YOUR INFORMATION

Arvie maintains commercially reasonable technical, administrative, and physical security measures designed to protect your information from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction.

When your payment information is transmitted to or through our Services, it is protected by cryptographic protocols. Arvie does not collect or store cardholder data submitted through Stripe; such data is transmitted directly to Stripe via its API. Arvie may store limited billing-related information (such as billing address and transaction records) to maintain compliance, process renewals, and facilitate refunds.

However, we cannot guarantee that transmissions of your payment information or your other information will always be secure or that unauthorized third parties will never be able to defeat the security measures taken by Arvie or our third-party service providers. Except to the extent that liability cannot be excluded or limited due to applicable law, we assume no liability or responsibility for disclosure of your information due to errors in transmission, unauthorized third-party access, or other causes beyond our control.

You play an important role in keeping your information secure. You should not share your username, password, or other security information for your Arvie account with anyone. If we receive instructions using your username and password, we will assume you have authorized those instructions. If you have reason to believe that your interaction with us is no longer secure (for example, if you believe your account has been compromised), please contact us immediately using the details in the How to Contact Us section below.

Retention

We may retain your personal information for as long as your account is active and for a period of time thereafter to allow you to re-activate your account without loss of information. We may also retain your personal information as necessary to:

  • Maintain logs and business records for analysis, security, and/or audit purposes

  • Comply with record retention requirements under applicable law

  • Deal with complaints regarding the Services

  • Comply with our legal obligations, protect or defend our rights, resolve disputes, and enforce our contracts

  • Maintain subscription renewal and refund records as required by applicable law and company policy

COOKIES AND INTEREST-BASED ADVERTISING POLICY

What Are Cookies?

Cookies and similar tracking technologies, such as beacons, scripts, pixel tags, and web beacons (collectively “cookies”), are small bits of text or code that are stored on a user’s device or browser. Cookies allow a website to remember information about a user’s visit. On mobile applications, we may use device identifiers and/or advertising IDs in a similar manner.

We and certain third-party partners (as described below) use cookies on our Website, in our mobile applications, and within emails or other communications we send to you. To the extent cookies result in the processing of your personal information, such processing is addressed in this Privacy Policy.

Types of Cookies We Use

  • First-party cookies. These are placed by us or service providers working on our behalf to support website functionality, security, and analytics.

  • Third-party cookies. These may be set by partners for analytics, advertising, or social media integration.

  • Session cookies. These are temporary and deleted once you close your browser.

  • Persistent cookies. These remain on your device after closing your browser and are used to recognize you when you return.

Our Advertising Cookies

We work with third parties that place cookies on our Website to provide services including:

  1. Ad Targeting. Third-party advertising companies may collect information about your visits to our Website and other sites to serve you targeted advertisements about goods and services likely to be of interest.

  2. Advertising Analytics/Measurement. We use analytics tools, including Google Analytics 360, Google Tag Manager, and related advertising features (e.g., Google Remarketing, Google Ads Manager). These may use cookies to analyze user behavior across time and websites, generate reports, and help us create ad audiences. Where required, we use IP anonymization.

  3. Remarketing Pixel Tags. We may place pixel tags (also known as clear gifs) on some Website pages to help deliver relevant advertisements to you on other websites based on your prior activity on our Services.

  4. Local Storage Technologies. Our partners may use local storage (e.g., HTML5) to store content information and preferences.

Mobile Devices, Device Identifiers, and Hashed IDs

We and our partners may collect unique identifiers matched to your mobile device, including advertising IDs, to deliver customized ads or content while you use mobile applications or browse the internet. De-identified data may be combined with voluntarily submitted data (such as hashed email addresses) to deliver more relevant ads.

Your Cookie Choices

When you first visit our Website, where required by law, you will have the option to consent to or refuse non-essential cookies (such as advertising or functional cookies). You may also manage cookie preferences via:

  • Browsers. Most browsers accept cookies by default, but you can change settings to refuse or delete certain cookies.

  • Opt-out tools. Some third parties provide their own opt-out tools (e.g., Google Ads Preferences).

  • AppChoices. You may also use the DAA AppChoices app to manage behavioral advertising preferences on mobile devices.

Please note: without cookies, certain features of our Services may not function properly (e.g., saved logins, personalization). Even if you opt out, you may still see ads — but they will not be based on your browsing behavior.
